TECHKRITI

Techkriti is the annual Technical and Entrepreneurship festival of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Over the years, Techkriti has grown into one of the largest collegiate festivals of its kind. Held every February for a period of four days, the event attracts primarily college students, mainly from Engineering and management backgrounds. The participation of Management students increased after Megabucks, another festival of IIT Kanpur was merged with Techkriti for administrative reasons. This festival itself is new when compared to the timeline of IIT Kanpur, which was established in 1959. But still in its small life it has already made a spot in the annual calendars of thousands of students nationwide. International participation is increasing, but many eager students are not able to participate due to accessibility issues of Kanpur.
Techkriti also includes online events such as the International Online Programming Contest and International Online Hacking Contest, which draws international participation. Techkriti was aimed at providing a platform for college students to showcase their enthusiasm for and talent in science and technology. Techkriti conducts guest lectures and discussion forums where participants can get opportunities to meet, and gain inspiration from, some of eminent scientists, authors, social activists, artists and entrepreneurs.
