This site hosts the college festivals of Indian Institute of Technology, KANPUR. But since IIT KANPUR is the mentor institute of IIT RAJASTHAN, so we decided to host a page for Rajasthan IIT college festivals. It was established in 2008 and has an intake of 150 students since then. IIT RAJASTHAN is located in the city of Jodhpur.It has its own campus working unlike other new iits.

.Taksh 2011 is an omnium-gatherum of students from across the nation under one roof of Indian Institute of Technology, Rajasthan. It is an initiative conceived, guided and successfully launched by the IIT Rajasthan family. Our endeavours revolve around a Binary Focus. One, being the propagation, celebration and enrichment of our culture and the other being the realization of our moral responsibilities towards the society.
It will get together the Youthful India from all over the country in thousands and provide a stage for each one to perform. Be it a hobby, like whistling or be it your inborn talent, like singing, or be it your fantasy , like meeting your idol face to face, Taksh has events that leaves no part of this humongous Creative Dynasty unconquered. Entertaining the crowd to the fullest and winning their hearts.

HOW TO REACH JODHPUR
Reaching Jodhpur
Jodhpur is well connected by road, rail and air. Trains are available from all parts of the country to reach Jodhpur (Visit the Indian Railways Official website: http://www.indianrail.gov.in ). There are direct flights and hopping flights from New Delhi and Mumbai to Jodhpur. Deluxe and express buses ply to Jodhpur from Delhi, Jaipur and many other cities.
From the Railway Station
If you are arriving at Jodhpur Junction by rail, come out through Platform No.1 exit gate. You can take a prepaid auto/taxi for the IIT Rajasthan Residential Complex, Kendranchal, Vivek Vihar (Near Indian Oil Residential Complex and Bharat Petroleum Residential Complex) situated on the Pali Road. You may ask the driver to take you to Jhalamand Chauraha on Pali Road from where this complex is 3 km straight ahead towards Pali. The day time charges for auto-rickshaw should be about Rs.120/- from the railway station to the IIT Residential Complex on Pali Road. Night charges are usually higher (you may need to bargain with the auto-rickshaw driver).
From the airport
You can take a prepaid auto/taxi for the IIT Rajasthan Residential Complex, Kendranchal, Vivek Vihar (Near Indian Oil Residential Complex and Bharat Petroleum Residential Complex) situated on the Pali Road. The directions to the driver are that same as those given above.
On arriving in the campus
All students should contact the Hostel-in-Charge at the Hostel Office for accommodation. Please note that the allocation of room is fixed, and any requests for change of allocated room will not be entertained.

Event Name: Varchas 2011

About Event:
Varchas 2011 is the annual inter college sports festival of IIT RAJASTHAN. It aims at encouraging and enhancing sportsmanship spirit among all its participants by being host to events in a variety of sports such as Athletics, Tennis, Volleyball, Table-tennis, Basketball, Chess, Football, Badminton and Cricket.

Registration Rules:
- Registration fees: Rs. 500 per participant.
- Each student must bring his/her college ID card, two passport size photographs and a bonafide certificate signed by the institute head.
- All the participating colleges must fill the form given at back of the booklet(to be uploaded soon..) and send it to the given address by 15th January 2011.
- For the security purpose kindly send the scanned copy of the form at the given e-mail id latest by 15th January 2011.
- The selection will be on first come first serve basis and any late entries will not be entertained.
- The participation of your college will be confirmed by us, only after receiving your participation form. A confirmation letter will be faxed to you after considering your participation form. The confirmation letter will be faxed to you positicely by 18th Janary 2011.
- Teams are required to produce their confirmation letter at the time of registration.
- Mention your fax number in the form so that you get your confirmation letter by fax.
- Mention separately the number of boys and girls in the contingent and also the number of faculty members (if any) so that separate arrangements could be made.
- Date of arrival : 26th January, 2011
- On arrival report at the hospitality desk at the given address.
- There is an upper limit on the number of participants in each sport.
- Teams are required to bring two printed copies of the names of participants according to the event they are participating in.
- Each team should nominate one group leader with whom the hospitality team will carry out all communication.
